Rachels Christmas Stocking

(Kara Posting for Rachel)
Key: Nugget= Adelyn in Rachel Language
Because Rachel has a new baby she of coarse needed a new stocking for her little nugget.
We made stocking for our fist ever Craft fest and Rach was able to continue the tradition this year.
She started out piecing together the stocking in the pattern she wanted and then cut out shapes on the cricut.
She used fusible web to attach the shapes to the actual stocking.

This is the problem she got bored before she actually finished the stocking.
She is going to finish it a bring it back in Dec when they come for Christmas so this is a half post of the stocking. More is to come!

Snow Man Hat

So our mom LOVES snowmen and we saw these really cute snowman hat tree toppers a store, for like 25$
my mom being super crafty (this is where we inherit the love) decided to make her own at our craft day that I talked about on Tuesdays post.
she used poster board, felt, hot glue, spray glitter, and ribbon. She also made little ones to go all over the tree. she used paper clips and rubber bands to hold these all together until the glue dried. I wish I had more specifics and a pattern but I had to leave early. However we hope this inspires you!

More Flowers

Along with a Scarf obsession I also have been on a flower kick.
We had the annual Winegar Girls Craft Day over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Rachel and I made these super easy satin flowers that you see everywhere and have probably made yourselves.

I started out by cutting out circles on my cricut ranging in sizes from 5" down to 1"

I traced them onto the satin which I bought at Hobby Lobby for .75 for 1/4 of a yard. I cut out my circles and singed the edges with a candle. Glued them together and glued a simple bead in the middle.

I then glued a pin clasp on one and hair clips on the others!

EASY PEASY LEMON SQUEEZY!

I Love Sarves

So I have a total obsession with scarves I own a lot and am getting more for Christmas. I saw this cute crocheted scarf on a website and decided I wanted to make one of my own this is a thinner scarf it is only about 3" wide, which I LOVE! The problem is I do not crochet well and only know  a few stitches so this is  about as good as it gets. :)

If anyone out there wants the pattern that I used I will make it up in crochet lingo and post it but I cannot guarantee it will be correct.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and found lots of great shopping deals this morning!

No Sew Flowers

So I was called to teach primary in my ward, and I needed a primary bag. Problem is I don't have money to go buy a new one and I don't have the patience right now to make one. So I started digging through my office closet and I came up with this levi bag with a pocket on front, my mother-in-law gave it to me last year and I have never used it.  So I thought great this will be perfect but it needed COLOR so I had seen a girl at the store with this really cute head band and I thought why not make that bigger and a pin and stick it on this bag!

This was super simple, I found round object that in the size that I wanted and traced them onto fabric, six circles each then cut them out. I cut out a small piece of felt and  got out the glue gun. All I did was fold each circle in to 1/4 and stuck a dot of glue in the middle to hold them together, and then i just arranged them on the felt and glued down in layers, in this picture I just rolled up some scrap fabric and stuck it in the middle, and to finish off I just glued on a jewelry pin I which I bought at the craft store for .75 and it came with five, the rest was free because it was all scrap fabric!

I hope everyone has a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving, I know we will!
