Baby Shower Part 3 the final chapter!

Well we had the baby shower last week and it went off without a hitch it was great! Rach was so concerned that nobody would show up, and she had a huge turn out! Here are some pics of the food we did mini cupcakes and fruit pizzas, we also did vegitable and fruit trays. The mini fruit pizzas were my fav, we loved the idea of fruit pizza but it is such a hassle and a mess we wanted things easy! We just baught cookie dough from the store and baked them off so they were already the perfect size, we then used our fav cream cheese frosting recipe and layed on the fruit super easy we put these together in no time at all!

Sorry the pic is blury but it is all I have.

We also kept the decorations simple because it was in the backyard, we just paid a visit to party land and our trusty Maceys to get some supplies!

We used the diaper cake as a center piece for the gift table we loved how it all turned out!

Baby Shower Part 2

Ok here we go Part 2 of Rachels Shower. I have seen these diaper cakes in all the baby stores along with all over the web. My mom and I searched the web and found tons of ideas and this is all of our favorites mixed together. The recipie for this particular cake included 50 size one diapers, 10 size newborn diapers, 60 small rubber bands, 5 Large rubber bands and 1 huge rubber band, 3 rolls of the ribbon of your choice,2 baby bottles I large and 1 small, 1 bag of candy, glue dots, 1 bag of paper confetti, and tons of baby goodies! Started out by filling the baby bottles with candy, then surrounding the bottles with diapers securing them with rubber bands, sorry I was at my mothers during all this and did not have my camera. the larger bottle goes on the bottom and you build two layers with this. We then just cut the ribbon to size and attached it, then we just decorated to what we liked, and I have to say I love how this turned out!

Baby Shower Part 1

As some of you out there might know, the other author of this blog Rachel C. is going to be having a baby girl here in a few months, she is coming home to visit soon before she is not allowed to travel anymore, as her loving older sister, I along with my mother and sister-in-law are throwing her a shower, I have been out of crafting mojo lately but this has gotten me back in the groove. Below is the invite to her shower. I found the cutest invitations that were made to look like a diaper the only problem was they cost like $2.00 a piece, which would not be bad but there are like 35 people on the guest list and that gets pricey, so I scoured the web and found ideas on how to make them, and then a few weeks ago I received and invite to a friend of mines shower, and low and behold, her mother-in-law had splurged for the expensive invites, and I had my template yay! I printed the inside of the invite first, I don't have a pic of that because my computer is not letting me blur out the info and I don't really want all of the personal information all over the web sorry folks! The other problem I ran into is that I could not find cute baby paper so I added the white trim to make it cute I was thrilled the way these turned out, they were time consuming but that is ok, I had a Gilmore Girls marathon and went to town. The best part is that including stamps envelopes and paper to make 35 invites instead of the 65+ it would have cost for the others I made them all for 15$+change.
